Preparing for Machu Picchu

This weekend I have been working on some recipes, as part of my preparation for the trips I will be going on over the next two weeks. I am very excited! I will spend one week for work in Brazil and the other one in Peru, but this later one for vacation. We will finally get to go and visit Cusco and the famous Machu Picchu! I had always wanted to go there for the longest time and I am so glad it worked out for this year. I plan to take a picture that looks something like the one on the left…well, let’s see if I can do it! 😉

The other good thing of visiting those countries is of course that I get to try all their amazing local cuisines! In fact, Superfoods are really popular ingredients in both countries, for example the Açai in Brazil and Quinoa in Peru! And of course they also use a lot of avocado, tomatoes, beans, etc. – just to name a few.


This was for example an Açai bowl I recently had here in Miami, at Pura Vida Health Café, in Brazil there will be plenty of places to get them.

And of course, I can’t wait for the beautiful beaches they have in Brazil, hopefully, there will be time to visit one or another on the weekend before we head to Peru, like this one I visited about 1 1/2 years back in Rio de Janeiro.

I will try to upload some pictures of the new Superfoods discoveries I will be making over the next two weeks and hopefully there will be plenty of inspiration for new dishes that I can cook when I am back. 🙂

In the meantime, I wanted to share with you some of the ingredients pictures I took when I was preparing food for new recipe posts. I just love ingredients, they look so beautiful in their pure form and vibrant colors, and they contain all the amazing nutrients that are good for us.
